The National Service Scheme (NSS) in a polytechnic is a voluntary program where students actively participate in community service activities, aiming to develop their social awareness, leadership skills, and sense of civic responsibility by directly addressing community needs and problems, all while incorporating their technical knowledge gained through their polytechnic studies; essentially, it's a platform for "education through service" based on the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, with the motto "Not Me, But You".
