
To provide hands on experience to students about basic hand tools used in automobile workshop. This includes demonstration of the use of different tools used in Automobile workshop. And to identify different engine components, demonstration of basic experiments on engines, and understanding the servicing procedure of automobiles. And also designed to enhance the automotive servicing skills of students.

To practice servicing of different types of petrol engine components and systems. This includes overhauling of four stroke petrol engine, petrol fuel pump, carburettor etc.. And to identify the components of petrol engines, performing the servicing of engine components, fuel supply system, engine cooling system and lubricating system. And also to enhance the engine servicing skills of the students.

To train students to get an in-depth knowledge about diesel engine systems and components, such as fuel feed pump, primary and secondary filters, Fuel injection pump etc.. And setting the Fuel injection pump timing, and understanding about diesel engine intake and exhaust systems. And to acquire skills regarding identification, dismantling, servicing and assembling of diesel engines and its components such as cylinder head, valve assembly, piston, connecting rod, crankshaft, camshaft, adjusting tappet clearance etc.

To understand the important features of Indian Motor Vehicle Act 1988, including laws, various signs and traffic signals. And understanding about parivahan site of ministry of road Transport & Highways. And summarising the Road safety provisions in Motor vehicle act 1988 along with learning the components of transport management and Bus operation. In addition to that to aware the knowledge on computer based transport planning and to perform vehicle insurance and surveying.

To acquire sufficient knowledge about the advanced components and systems in automobile engineering with their diagnoses & rectification. Which includes Experiment with servo and air brake system. Servicing and troubleshooting procedure on turbo charger, intercooler and Automobile Air conditioning system. Experiment with MPFI sensors, fuel injection pump, Smoke meter and Exhaust gas analyser along with this understanding the use of Wheel balancing machine, Computerized wheel alignment machine, Automatic Tyre changer and Head light aiming tool.

To know about different types of tools and equipment in two and three wheeler workshop. To demonstrate and conduct experiments on engines, fuel, cooling and lubrication systems of two and three wheelers. Repairing of transmission, steering, suspension and braking systems. To maintain the electrical systems of two and three wheelers and to know about electrical auto rickshaw. To conduct a driving test, to find out the condition of the vehicle after repair. In addition to that, to Identify the constructional details of three wheeler chassis frame.

To impart skills of fault finding and rectification of vehicle systems for students in a systematic way, like understanding use of vehicle diagnostics process flow. Also to process information regarding diagnostic methods such as engine system diagnosis, chassis system diagnosis and electrical system diagnosis. And more importantly applying it on real vehicles. And also performing both drive test and shop test.

Developing 3D modelling. Solid primitives and Boolean operations. Making use of Polyline options to prepare models of Automobile components. Building automobile models using Layers, Blocks and Dimensioning tool. Along with this identifying UCS, VIEWPOINT, VIEWPORT and Multiview of a solid object. Appreciating Engineering components in conceptual level and three dimensional level.

Identifying the use of specific tools in vehicle body repair shop and body panels. To provide the required level of knowledge and practice in vehicle body repair including minor and major repairs. Also to outline the procedures related to vehicle body, demonstration of vehicle body refinishing work and understanding the different tools or equipment for carrying out the work.

To provide hands-on experience for the students to outline the basic concept of engineering mechanics, like infering centre of gravity, mass moment of inertia etc.. Along with this determining strains in mutually perpendicular directions under axial tension. And also determining the co-efficient of friction on a plane through experimentation. To experiment with force system and make use of it to solve various engineering problems, such as identifying the force systems for given conditions by applying the basics of mechanics. Determining unknown forces of different engineering systems.

To measure discharge of fluid through pipes, orifices and notches. Making use of Bernoulli’s theorem apparatus. Organising experiments on Venturi meter and pipe friction apparatus. To get familiar with various applications of fluid mechanics and achieve the proficiency to test the performance of pumps such as centrifugal pump and reciprocating pump. To apply their knowledge in fluid systems, such as hydraulic circuits and pneumatic circuits.

To enhance the skills of students to test the properties of fuels and lubricating oils. Applying procedures of testing in different ways through the given apparatus. To conduct experiments on petrol, diesel engines and air compressors to test the various performance characteristics. To infer the results to understand the various conditions prevailing in the engines and compressors.

The complete procedure of dismantling, cleaning, and inspection, fault finding or rectifying and reassembling of components of automobile electrical and electronic systems. This includes identifying various tests on lead acid battery, Experiment with alternator and starter motor, Identifying the various troubles relating to ignition system and selecting various wiring circuits of automobile. And also to make sure the students understanding the basics of automobile electrical and electronics equipments and their working.
